That said, as good as they are at unblocking streaming services, I did run into some minor speed issues. As far as I can tell, all these servers can unblock Netflix, too, which is pretty impressive. with a few European countries thrown in, CyberGhost has a lot of options, from Belgium and the Netherlands to Japan or Australia. While it has specialized servers for gaming (which presumably offer lower ping) and torrenting-which we recommend you use if you decide to venture onto the high seas-the big attraction is the streaming servers which are, in a word, excellent.ĬyberGhost offers a great geographic spread of streaming servers: where most other VPNs focus on the U.K. To the left is a list of specialized servers, which is CyberGhost's main strength. It was honestly a nightmare, so I was happy to see that its latest incarnation, CyberGhost 8, has chosen to have a mobile-style app like ExpressVPN has, to name but one. It started years ago with a simple list, then transmogrified into a Windows 8-style app that took up the entire screen and had moving tiles everywhere. Over the years, it has experimented a lot with different types of interfaces. Overall, I really liked using CyberGhost. Still, it has enough gumption to make it onto our list of the best VPNs for Netflix, thanks to its ability to get through to that streaming service. Overall, there's a lot to like about CyberGhost, though it lacks the oomph to be on our selection of the best VPN services. I took it for a spin to see how it fares. Currently, it seems mainly focused on being a streaming-friendly VPN that offers long-term plans for decent money. Whatever operating system you use, you should make sure that Saving Payment Methods and Save Payment Info are disabled.CyberGhost is a VPN provider that's been around for a while and has gone through several incarnations. (It's enabled on Windows 11 as well.) On MacOS however, not only was the option disabled, but there was an extra option for Automatically Save Payment Info (which was off by default). For instance, when I installed Edge on Linux, the option was enabled. On top of that, depending on your operating system, the saving of payment information will vary. The problem is that disabling the saving of payment methods is sort of hidden within Edge. To that end, I always disable the saving of payment methods. Disable Save Payment MethodsĪlthough saving your payment methods in a web browser is convenient, it's not something I would ever recommend. But which settings do you change? There are five security settings I would recommend looking into. If you open the Microsoft Edge Settings window, you won't find a Security section because these settings are included in the Privacy, Search, and Services section. Fortunately, those settings are easily changed. However, by default, a number of those settings are either not enabled or set to their less secure options. It's pretty fast, and - more importantly - it can be made much more secure than Google's browser. It's based on Chromium but offers quite a bit more features and options than Chrome.
